Rheinsburg Capitalizes on Son’s Misfortune to win Spring Fling 200 presented by Belle Tire

Aaron Rheinsburg had a commanding lead with 22 laps to go in Saturday night’s Spring Fling 200 at Kalamazoo Speedway but a car failure relegated Aaron to a 22^nd place finish and handed the lead to his father Robert, who would hang on for the victory in the season opener for the Belle Tire Enduro Series.  Veteran driver Eddy Burgen finished a strong second ahead of early leader Brian Amos, Zach Cook and Robert Boersen.  Tony Boersen, Greg LaPierre,  Jamie Hancock, Kenny Head and Dale Bruns rounded out the top ten.  Other notable finishers included Wayne Stack in 14^th, Michael Jenks in 26^th, Mark Kelly in 38^th and defending series champion Randy Clingan in 54^th.

Next Saturday is the long awaited Intimidator 100 for the Outlaw Super Late Models.  The race will be 100 laps and feature double file restarts.  Also of note the top three finishers will lock into the All-Star Shootout scheduled for July 4th.  Early favorites include 11-time champion Andy Bozell and his son Phil as well as 2-time champion Terry Senneker, defending Kalamazoo Klash champion Steve Needles, former Klash winner Tom Thomas and young Mark Shook.  As if that isn’t enough the Super Stocks, Pro Stocks and Cyber Stocks all kick off their seasons as well.  To keep up with all Kalamazoo Speedway news go to www.kalamazoospeedway.com.
