“12-Time” Finds Victory Lane at the Zoo
12-time Outlaw Super Late Model champion Andy Bozell captured the win in the fifty lap main event Saturday night at Kalamazoo Speedway. Point leader Phil Bozell was second ahead of Randy Day, Mark Shook and Trent Hellenga. Tom Thomas finished 6th ahead of Rick Sexton, Brandon Lyons, Billy Shannon and John Chapman. Tom Thomas set quick time while Ron Coburn and Day won the heats.
Mike Brooks drove the Leduc Blueberry sponsored car to the win in the Modified feature over the Scott’s sponosored machine of Ben Raber. AJ Foote was third ahead of Brian Bergakker and Ryan Wheeler. Mark Fliearman, Matt Bainbridge (who set quick time), Tom McGhee, Rodney Nettelton and Megan Carpenter completed the top ten. Other notables included Brent Hook in 11th and Randy DeBoer in 15th.
Eric McGlothlen pulled the “bump and run” in the final corner to beat Jamison Russell in the Super Stock feature. Matt Frazier ran third ahead of Jake Hopwood and defending champion Buddy Head. Matt Corliss was sixth ahead of Kenny Head, Todd Foote, Chris Shannon and Ron Hughson Jr. Todd Foote set quick time while Andy Appelhans and Chris Shannon won the heats.
Lloyd Brooks drove his pickup truck to the win in the Pro Stock feature beating out Toby Montgomery, Keith Wilfong, Ron Landis and Josh Coburn. Travis Hall, Tyler Hufford, James Roden, Scott Elsey and Danny Oxford completed the top ten. Notable finishers included Bob Metheny in 14th place. Brooks also set quick time while Elsey and Landis won heats.
Nick Layman drove to the front in a hurry and held on to win the Cyber Stock Feature over Jerry Jansen III, Doug Smith, Jerry Jansen II and Kaylee Misak. Clark Smith, Bryen Pion, TC Burgess, Cliff Lambert and Pete Zwart completed the top ten. Doug Smith set quick time and heat races were won by Layman and Clark Smith.
Next on the schedule is another full show featuring the Pro Stock Spring Fling 35. This will be a $450 to win race for the Pro Stocks.
