12-Time Paces Final Pre-Season Test @ the Zoo
12-time Outlaw Super Late Model champion Andy Bozell was the quickest Outlaw Super Late Model on the property at the final pre-season test of 2012. Andy ran a lap of 12.719 seconds at 106.140mph to top the speed charts. Andy’s son and defending champion Phil was second fastest with a 12.832 second lap. Mark Shook, who was fastest in the first pre-season test, was third quickest ahead of Rick Senneker, Brain Bergakker, Todd Harrington, Billy Shannon, John Chapman, Matt Bainbridge and Luke Krick.
Chris Shannon was fastest in the ultra-competitive Super Stock division with a 13.704 second lap. Brandon Lyons hit the track for the first time this season and was second fastest ahead of Jerry Andrews, Kenny Head and Darren Lane. Lindsey Katz was sixth ahead of Tom Rutherford, Matt Frazier, Cory Kruzel and Mickey Cornwell.
A strong field of Pro Stocks were also on hand with Lloyd Brooks running a 14.636 to top the charts. Tyler Hufford was second beating on Keith Wilfong, Travis Hall and Daton Wright. Zach Cook led the second half of the top ten ahead of Randy Simmons, Ron Landis, Danny Oxford and Jim Wheaton.
Mini Stock and Cyber Stock drivers also finished up their pre-season runs with Frank Stager leading the Mini Stock division ahead of Andrew Brest and Billy Bussema. Logan Knight was again the quickest Cyber Stock ahead of Dale Leonard and Wayne Stack.
This Saturday the 2012 season kicks off with the Intimidator 100 presented by Boyne Machine for the Outlaw Super Late Models. Several cars look good during pre-season testing including the Bozell’s, Mark Shook, Rick Senneker and Brian Bergakker. Other drivers expected to compete for the win include Trent Hellenga, Steve Needles, JR Roahrig, Tyler Roahrig and many more! In addition to the Outlaw Super Late Models all other divisions will run extended features to kick off 2012 in style! The Super Stocks will be going 40 laps, the Pro Stocks will go 35 laps, Mini Stocks will be 30 laps and the Cyber Stocks will be 25 laps.
