3 Super Stock Drivers Now Ranked in the Top 50 Nationally
Three drivers in Kalamazoo Speedway’s Super Stock division are now ranked in the top 50 nationally in Division III of the NASCAR Finalist Program for asphalt tracks. Eric McGlothlen is the highest ranked of the drivers in 42nd based on his two victories, four top-5’s and eight top-10’s in eight starts this season. Last week’s winner Chris Shannon is now 43rd, while track point leader Matt Corliss is currently 45th. Other Super Stock drivers currently ranked in the top 100 are: defending champion Buddy Head (56th), Jamison Russell (81st) and Jake Hopwood (99th).
In Division IV, Keith Wilfong is currently the highest ranked Kalamazoo driver in 32nd nationally. Wilfong has one win, seven top-5’s and eight top-10’s in the first eight races of 2011. Other Kalamazoo drivers currently ranked in the top 100 of Division IV include: Lloyd Brooks (50th), Toby Montgomery (52nd), Bob Metheny (66th), Scott Elsey (67th) and Tyler Hufford (68th).
Despite his accident in the most recent event Nick Layman is still the highest ranked Kalamazoo Speedway driver in Division V. Layman currently sits 19th in the standings, with two wins and seven top-5’s in eight starts. Doug Smith (20th), Bryen Pion (30th), Jerry Jansen III (44th), Kaylee Misak (61st), Bob Miller (65th), Lauryn Rousseau (67th), Cliff Lambert (70th), Doug Nelson (92nd) and Everett Smith (100th) are also ranked in the top 100 nationally.
