VanAvery Closing in on Michigan Rookie of the Year Crown
Adam VanAvery has once again extended his lead in the NASCAR Whelen All-American Series Michigan state Rookie of the Year battle. VanAvery used his 18th place finish in the Outlaw Super Late Model feature Saturday night to propel him 36 points ahead of his nearest challenger, Rich Mersereau. VanAvery has competed in all ten events this season, with one top-10 finish to his credit. Mersereau has only started in half of the events held this season and has no top-10’s but still has an outside chance at the state rookie title with just four events to go.
