Berlin Template Super Late Models Return To The Kalamazoo Klash in 2012
The Berlin Template Super Late Models will be invading the Kalamazoo Speedway once again to take part in the Kalamazoo Klash XX.
The Kalamazoo Klash, which will be celebrating its 20th year, is an Outlaw Late Model race that pays $10,000 to win and is one of the most anticipated racing events of the summer. While trying to provide a support division to make the event extra-special, last year the Template Late Models made their debut at the Kalamazoo Klash XIX with a 75-lap race that was won by Johnny Benson.
“We are very excited to be part of the Kalamazoo Klash again this season with our Template Late Models,” said Mike Bursley, General Manager of Berlin Raceway. The amount of teams that have both outlaw late models and template late models is growing immensely so why not see if we can work together on it and grow this portion of the event. Making the event a $5,000 to win show in conjunction with the $10,000 to win Klash is a win-win, we now have two prestigious events that pay well and feature distinct styles of racecars.”
This year, the Klash will be run on Wednesday, August 15 with an open practice scheduled for the day before. The Berlin Template Super Late Model race will be extended to 100 laps, will pay $5,000 to win and will be an excellent starter for the main event. In the event of rain, the Klash would be rescheduled for Thursday, August 16.
Tickets the Kalamazoo Klash will be $20 for adults, $15 for kids 10-15 and $5 for 9 and under; racing will start at 7:00 p.m. More information on the Klash can be found at www.kalamazoospeedway.com and more information about the Berlin Template Super Late Models, including their full 2012 season schedule can be found at www.berlinraceway.com.
