Lyons & Rutherford Sit Atop Cool 101 Hard Charger Standings

After two weeks of racing in Kalamazoo Speedway’s ultra-competitive Super Stock division Brandon Lyons and Tom Rutherford are tied for the point lead (Lyons would win the tiebreaker due to having more wins) and coincidentally they are also tied for the lead in the Cool 101 Hard Charger point standings.  Both competitors have improved their starting positions by 18 through two events this season.  While neither one of these drivers is a surprise to be sitting where they are the driver in third place in the Hard Charger points certainly could be considered a surprise.  Cole Allers has improved his starting position by 17 spots through the first two events of the season and thus he is in third position in the Hard Charger standings.  Rounding out the top five in the standings are Kenny Head and then a fifth place tie between Chris Shannon and Josh Trammell.

Cool 101 will present the Hard Charger Award for the Super Stocks and will present the winner with $200 and a plaque at the 2012 Kalamazoo Speedway Awards Ceremony. Points will be kept all season long and the driver with the most points at the end of the season will win the award. A driver will earn one point for each position improved during an ‘A’ Feature (based on scheduled starting position). For example if a driver starts 14^th and finishes 5^th, that driver will earn 9 points towards the Hard Charger Award.
