Kalamazoo Klash Tune-Up Will Live Up to Its Name This Saturday!!
This Saturday’s Kalamazoo Klash Tune-Up will be exactly that, a tune-up for the biggest Outlaw Super Late Model event on the planet, the Kalamazoo Klash, which will be held just four days later. In addition to all of the Kalamazoo regulars, several outsiders are expected to make the trip to the Zoo this Saturday in hopes of fine-tuning their cars for next Wednesday’s big event. Among the outsiders expected this Saturday are Terry Senneker, Steve Needles, Tim DeVos, Terry VanHaitsma, Jordan Dahlke and Steve Dorer.
In addition to the outsiders tuning up for Wednesday’s Klash, three drivers are still in a tight battle for the 2011 Kalamazoo Speedway Outlaw Super Late Model championship. Phil Bozell is holding a slim 42 point advantage over his 12-time champion winning father Andy Bozell. Phil is looking for his first Outlaw Super Late Model championship. Tom Thomas, is just 69 points back and is also looking for his first Kalamazoo Speedway Outlaw Super Late title.
The Klash Tune-Up will be a 75 lap, $1,500 to win event. The race will feature double file restarts, the “Lucky-Dog” rule and be run on the same Hoosier slick tires that will be ran in Wednesday’s Klash.
